All in One Fox ESS PQ1 5.0kW Hybrid Off-Grid Inverter & 9.84-29.52 kWh EQ5000-S Battery

A compact hybrid off-grid energy-storage system for solar self-consumption, battery backup and independent power applications, combining a 5.0kW single-phase PQ1 inverter with 9.84-29.52kWh of Fox ESS EQ5000-S LFP battery storage.

  • 5.0kW hybrid inverter with 3 MPPTs, up to 20kW PV array power and up to 19kW PV input power.
  • 9.84kWh high-voltage LFP battery storage, scalable to 29.52kWh.
  • Integrated 63A bypass capability and less than 4ms switch time for supported backup-power arrangements.

Fox ESS PQ1 5.0kW Hybrid Inverter with EQ5000-S Battery

The Fox ESS All-in-One PQ1 5.0kW Hybrid Off-Grid Inverter & EQ5000-S Battery Storage System combines solar PV conversion, high-voltage battery storage and backup capability in a floor-mounted energy-storage platform. It is intended for single-phase residential and light-commercial installations where solar generation, stored energy and essential-load backup need to work together.

The 5.0kW PQ1 inverter supports up to 20kW of connected PV array power, three independent MPPTs and an 80–500V battery operating range. The included EQ5000-S battery system provides 9.84-29.52kWh nominal energy.

Key features

  • Solar and battery in one system: use solar energy directly, store surplus generation and discharge the battery when solar production is low.
  • Flexible PV design: three MPPT trackers with 20A maximum input current per tracker on the PQ1-5.0kW model.
  • Backup-ready architecture: 5,000VA maximum EPS apparent power, 40A load-start capability and less than 4ms stated switch time.
  • Scalable LFP battery storage: the 9.84kWh EQ5000-S battery can be expanded to 29.52kWh using additional EQ5000-S battery modules.
  • Outdoor-capable equipment: PQ1 inverter rated IP66 and EQ5000-S battery system rated IP65, subject to installation in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.

Where to use

This Fox ESS PQ1 5.0kW hybrid inverter and EQ5000-S battery system is suited to homes, offices, workshops, small commercial premises and rural properties with a single-phase electricity supply. It can support solar self-consumption and planned backup circuits where the electrical design allows.

Typical applications include storing daytime PV generation for evening use, providing resilience for selected essential circuits, reducing grid imports at high-use periods and building a larger battery bank as energy demand increases. Backup loads, solar-string configuration, protective devices and grid connection requirements must be designed for the individual site.

This is not an out-of-the-box plug-in product. Installation, commissioning and any connection to the public electricity network should be completed by a competent installer in line with applicable UK electrical, DNO and manufacturer requirements. Use a trusted Energian installation partner where required.
