An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) offers emergency power when the grid fails. Consequently, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs) are commonly utilized in critical applications such as data centers, healthcare, and manufacturing. Also, these UPSs can be used at home for important home appliences (fridges, freezers and so on). Energian offers advanced UPSs with zero transfer time. This is normally achieved by an online double-conversion UPS operating in double-conversion mode. An online double-conversion UPS continuously converts incoming AC electricity to DC, then uses its inverter to convert that DC back into AC for the connected equipment. The inverter supplies the load during both normal operation and battery operation. When mains power fails, the battery supports the DC supply feeding the inverter. Because the inverter is already powering the equipment, there is no transfer gap between mains-fed and battery-fed operation.
Main benefits
-
Prevents interruption-related resets: sensitive servers, network equipment and industrial control electronics can continue operating without a brief supply break triggering a restart.
-
Conditions the power continuously: double conversion regulates the output and helps protect equipment from input voltage disturbances, surges and electrical noise—not just complete outages.
-
Supports operational continuity: it can keep critical equipment running through short outages or provide time to save work and shut systems down safely during longer failures.
-
Suits poor-quality mains supplies: the design accommodates a wider range of incoming voltage and frequency variations while maintaining controlled output power.
-
Protects sensitive commercial loads: typical applications include IT systems, communications equipment and PLC power supplies used in industrial control systems.
