EcoFlow Power Ocean 2 Plus Power Kits
EcoFlow POWER OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase Power Kits are scalable solar battery systems for homes that want to make better use of solar generation, benefit from time-of-use tariffs and add whole-home backup capability.
EcoFlow’s integrated Home Energy Management System (HEMS) can automate battery charging when electricity rates are lower and use stored energy when rates are higher, subject to system setup and a supported tariff integration.
EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase Power Kits
The EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase Power Kit combines a hybrid inverter, modular LFP battery storage and an intelligent HEMS. It gives homeowners a flexible way to store surplus solar generation, reduce reliance on grid electricity and manage energy use around household demand. EcoFlow HEMS introduces Intelligent SmartEarning Mode—a fully automated way to reduce electricity bills and boost solar efficiency. It intelligently charges your battery when electricity prices are low and powers your home from stored energy when rates are high. By leveraging dynamic tariff integrations, this mode ensures that every charging and discharging decision is made with cost in mind.

The system is designed to grow with the property. Start with the battery capacity needed now, then add further battery modules as electricity use increases, for example after installing an EV charger, heat pump or additional solar PV. Start with what you need today and expand anytime. A single inverter supports up to 6 battery packs per tower, reaching 60kWh with a dual-tower configuration—ideal for growing households or increasing energy demand. Need even more? The system supports up to 5 units in parallel in grid-connected scenarios, scaling total storage capacity up to 300kWh. You can upgrade to large homes with EVs and heat pumps.
Use more of your solar energy
During the day, unused solar electricity can be stored in the OCEAN 2 Plus battery rather than exported. With three independant MPPTs, OCEAN 2 Plus adapts easily to complex rooftops, multiple orientations, and partial shading conditions. Each solar panel string supports up to 8kW (totally 24kW) of input, allowing you to install more panels and maximise solar generation.

That stored energy can then support the property in the evening, overnight or during periods when solar generation is low.
EcoFlow HEMS adds automated energy management. Its Intelligent SmartEarning Mode uses solar and household-consumption forecasts, together with compatible dynamic tariff data, to determine when it may be more economical to charge or discharge the battery. EcoFlow states forecast accuracy of up to 90% for both solar generation and consumption, and lists more than 500 dynamic tariff integrations. These are manufacturer figures and depend on the system’s configuration, data availability and site conditions.
Flexible for changing energy needs
EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase Power Kits are suitable for compatible single-phase homes with existing or planned solar PV. They can be specified for straightforward solar self-consumption, electricity-tariff optimisation, backup power or a combination of these aims. Typical applications include:
-
Homes with high evening electricity consumption.
-
Properties adding solar PV and battery storage together.
-
Homes with EV charging, heat pumps or electric heating.
-
Properties where selected or whole-home backup is required following a correctly designed installation.
-
Larger homes that may need additional battery capacity over time.
Intelligent home energy control
HEMS means Home Energy Management System. In the EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus system, it monitors and coordinates energy from solar PV, the battery, household loads and the grid.
This can help the system prioritise available solar energy, store excess production, charge during lower-price periods where appropriate, and discharge stored energy when grid import is less favourable. It is designed to make energy decisions automatically, while giving the homeowner visibility and control through EcoFlow’s energy-management platform.
Professional system design required
An EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus kit should be specified around the property’s supply type, existing solar system, peak loads, annual energy consumption and backup-power requirements. The required inverter size, number of batteries, metering arrangement, backup board and grid-connection process will vary by site.
Energian can help with kit selection, battery sizing and compatibility checks. For a complete system, we recommend installation and commissioning through a trusted UK partner, including the required electrical protection, network notification or approval, and backup-load design.
