The Solarport Modular 2-in-portrait 2 rows x 6 columns kit is a steel ground mounting framework for twelve solar modules arranged in a 2-in-portrait layout. It uses Solarport’s Modular system, designed for commercial and domestic-scale projects and compatible with a wide range of foundation types for rapid, straightforward deployment.
Key features
- 2-in-portrait ground mount configuration with 2 rows and 6 columns (12 modules total), suitable for sites up to approximately 5° ground slope when designed correctly.
- Modular tables built in bays of 2 or 3 panels wide, allowing flexible layouts and easy extension for larger arrays.
- Supports panel lengths from 1650 mm to 2470 mm using four purlins and sliding clamps to align with manufacturer clamping zones.
- Compatible with multiple foundation options including piles, ballasted bases, anchors, Spirafix and ground screws, so almost no terrain is off limits when engineered properly.
- Designed in line with Eurocodes for wind and snow loading, with fundamental basic UK wind velocity up to 28 m/s and snow loads up to 0.7 kN/m², subject to site-specific design.
Typical applications

System design and installation
The Solarport Modular design is held in stock for rapid distribution and is engineered for straightforward site planning, with a single fixing size used throughout the framework.
Bay pitches of 2000, 2500, 3000 or 3500 mm can be selected, with an additional 100 mm available when using an Extension Joiner, to match module width and site layout.
Because the correct foundation, bay pitch and structural design depend on local ground conditions and wind and snow loads, this kit should be installed by competent contractors following Solarport’s design guidance.
