Delivery available

Zero Transfer Time UPS – ICONICA 3kW 24V Inverter-Charger & 4 × Rolls 2kWh 6V AGM Batteries

  • Keep selected home & business equipment running during a mains outage, with 0ms transfer time between grid and battery modes.
  • Supply up to 3,000W of continuous pure sine wave power from a 24V AGM battery bank.
  • Four Rolls batteries provide 8.04kWh nominal storage at the 20-hour rate, with mains charging and an integrated solar charge controller.

Backup power for essential business loads

This zero transfer time UPS system combines an ICONICA IC-ZT3000-24 inverter-charger with four Rolls S6-370AGM deep-cycle batteries connected in series. It provides a 230V AC supply for selected equipment when mains power is interrupted, then recharges the batteries when an acceptable AC supply returns. Solar panels can be added within the inverter’s specified PV limits.

This inverter has the ability to be connected in parallel with additional identical units (maximum of 8 further inverters), offering the possibility of large-scale system expansion, with up to 27kW of power handling capability and up to 72kWh battery storage capacity. Once connected in parallel, there is the option for 3-phase operation (ideal if the system is being used to power industrial grade equipment and machinery run on 3 phase). Each inverter connected in the system will require a parallel connection kit (sold separately)

Key features

  • Continuity for sensitive equipment: 0ms line-to-battery transfer; transfer between inverter and bypass modes is 4ms.
  • Pure sine wave output: 3kVA/3kW continuous rating, with twice rated power available for five seconds within the inverter’s operating limits.
  • Deep-cycle AGM storage: four 6V batteries form a 24V, 335Ah 8.04kWh bank at C20, without routine electrolyte topping-up.
  • Flexible charging: up to 60A from mains and a built-in 60A MPPT controller for up to 1,500W of compatible solar panels.
  • Local control and monitoring: LCD settings, RS232 communication and Bluetooth, with overload, overtemperature and short-circuit protection.

Where to use

Suitable for assessed essential-load circuits serving warehouse offices, logistics administration, network switches, routers, CCTV recorders, access-control equipment and commercial workstations. Total running power, starting surges and the required backup duration must be checked before selecting the system.

This is a single-phase supply for selected loads, not a complete warehouse or factory backup system. Suitability for medical, life-safety or other specialist equipment requires a separate application assessment.

System contents and battery capacity

  • 1 x ICONICA IC-ZT3000-24 3kW 24V zero transfer time inverter-charger.
  • 4 x Rolls S6-370AGM 6V deep-cycle AGM batteries, connected as one series string.
  • 1 x Mersen DC Fused Disconnect 2-pole NH1 fuse size 250ADC max
  • Required cables, battery interlinks, fuses, AC protection and any enclosure included.

The bank stores a nominal 8.04kWh at C20. A 80% depth-of-discharge allowance corresponds to 400-500 life cycle. Actual usable energy and runtime depend on load, temperature, battery condition and configured cut-off settings.

Installation and commissioning

This system is not ready to use straight out of the box. A qualified electrician must design and install the battery connections, DC protection and isolation, AC protection, earthing and essential-load circuits. Ask Energian about installation through trusted partners.

Charging voltages, current limits and low-voltage protection must be commissioned for the Rolls batteries and their operating temperature. Do not assume the inverter’s default AGM profile is correct. Battery equalisation must remain disabled for these AGM batteries.

Zero transfer time applies to the specified line-to-battery transition, not every operating-mode change. Select and commission the operating mode for the connected equipment; bypass transfer is specified at 4ms.
