Tigo Access Point (TAP) for TS4-A-O Optimiser
- Provides wireless mesh communication between Tigo TS4-A-O optimisers and a Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA).
- Enables module-level monitoring and supports module-level rapid shutdown functionality when used in a compatible Tigo system.
- Tool-free module-frame mounting, with support for up to 300 Tigo TS4 units subject to site conditions.
Tigo TAP wireless communication for TS4-A-O optimisers
The Tigo Access Point (TAP) is the wireless mesh communication device used with Tigo TS4-A-O optimisers. It connects wirelessly to the TS4 devices across the solar array and connects to a Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) through an RS485 cable.
For systems using TS4-A-O optimisers, the TAP is the required field communication component for module-level monitoring and module-level shutdown. It mounts directly to the solar-panel frame without tools, helping keep the installation neat and close to the optimisers it serves.
Key features
- Wireless mesh communication with Tigo TS4 devices, including the TS4-A-O optimiser.
- Connects to the Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) via RS485 cable.
- Supports up to 300 TS4 units; environmental conditions can affect the number of supported units.
- Provides grid-status information to TS4 MLPE for rapid shutdown UL compliance.
- Tool-free mounting on the module frame and quick start-up using the Tigo EI App on a mobile device.
Where to use
Use the Tigo Access Point (TAP) on solar PV systems fitted with compatible Tigo TS4 module-level power electronics, including the TS4-A-O optimiser. It is suitable for commercial roofs, warehouse installations, agricultural buildings and other arrays where module-level data and Tigo rapid shutdown functionality are required.
The TAP uses a mesh network: TS4 devices relay communications through the array. Allow a maximum 10m between the TAP and the closest TS4, a maximum 10m between TS4 devices, and up to 35m from the TAP to the farthest TS4. Pair the TAP with a Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) to complete the monitoring system.
This is a system component rather than a stand-alone energy device. Contact Energian for UK expert advice on TS4-A-O, TAP and CCA compatibility, array layout and commissioning. For complete systems, we can help arrange installation through trusted partners.
