SMART CUBE HYBRID INVERTER WORKING MODES There are five operating modes of the Hybrid ESS: AI Mode and Self-Consumption Mode.
- AI Mode: Uses AI to analyse consumption patterns and local electricity prices to customize smart electricity solutions for maximizing savings.
- Self-Consumtion Mode: When solar power is sufficient, the photovoltaic (PV) system supplies the load first, surplus energy is stored in the battery, and excess electricity is fed into the grid. When solar power is insufficient, the battery supplies electricity to the load.
- Fully Fed to Grid Mode: Maximizes PV power generation for sale to the grid. During the day, surplus electricity is stored in batteries; at night or when PV power is low, the battery discharges to maximize output.
- Time-based Control Mode: Charging and discharging times can be manually set via the Haier Smart Cube app. Surplus electricity during the day can be sold or stored, and the battery can be charged from the grid at night during low electricity price periods to save costs

Backup Reserve (configurable via app if a Gateway is present): Allows setting a backup state of charge (SOC) which reserves battery power for use when the grid is down.
- (1-6) SMART CUBE 5.0KWH BATTERY: The Smart Cube 5kWh is a battery module for home energy storage. It uses LiFePO4 technology, ensuring high safety and long life, and is designed for integration into energy storage systems.

SMART CUBE AND GENERATOR: The Smart Cube is designed to work seamlessly with a generator not less than 3kW of continuous power, e.g. Hyundai 4000W Petrol Inverter Generator, as a backup energy source, especially for long-term off-grid applications. The generator can operate in tandem with the Smart Cube's Gateway to provide smooth transitions between photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, battery storage, and generator power generation. This integrated system maximizes efficiency, savings, and energy independence by balancing power generation from solar, battery storage, and generator backup as needed.
- SMART CUBE AND HEAT PUMP: The Haier Smart Cube system controls a heat pump by treating it as a controllable load, which can be managed through specific interfaces on the inverter and energy controller. The system uses dry contacts (DO1, DO2) and digital inputs (DI1-DI5) on the inverter to send control signals to the heat pump. These contacts allow the Smart Cube to switch the heat pump on or off according to the energy management strategy.
