Fox ESS CQ7 solar battery storage
The Fox ESS CQ7 High Voltage Solar Battery System provides modular storage for a correctly matched inverter installation. Each system combines one CQ7-M-80 master module, which includes the controller and a battery module, with matching CQ7-S-80 slave modules. Choose from 13 configurations, with 2–14 modules providing 14.04–98.28kWh of nominal storage. Final module quantity and output must be checked against the inverter’s approved battery configuration.
Key features
- Expandable series-connected design: one master module plus 1–13 matching slave modules.
- 50A recommended charge/discharge current, 80A maximum charge/discharge current and 110A peak discharge current for 60 seconds.
- CAN communication and LED indicators for system monitoring and status.
- Natural-convection cooling and an integrated fire-protection function.
- Optional warm-up versions support operation in colder conditions; heating is not included in standard modules.
Where to use
Suitable applications include solar energy storage at offices, workshops, warehouses and other commercial premises where a compatible inverter and approved battery configuration are specified. Storage can help shift solar energy to later operating hours; backup capability depends on the inverter, switching equipment and complete system design.
The CQ7 is a high-voltage DC battery, not a standalone AC power supply. Do not assume compatibility with every Fox ESS inverter or with third-party inverters. Contact our UK team to check the exact inverter model, module count, firmware and required connection equipment before ordering.
Installation and commissioning must be carried out by qualified electrical personnel. Provide a hard, level supporting surface, suitable ventilation and the clearances required by the manual. Outdoor installations must be protected from direct sunlight, rain and snow accumulation. We can suggest trusted installation partners for system design and commissioning.
