- Support self-consumption, peak shaving and tariff optimisation through SolarEdge ONE for C&I, subject to regional availability and site configuration.
- Pre-assembled LFP battery cabinet with built-in HVAC, layered safety systems and a 10-year product and performance warranty, subject to manufacturer terms.
SolarEdge 50kW commercial battery storage system
The SolarEdge CSS-OD 197 combines one CSS-OU-197 battery cabinet with one PCS050 50kW AC-coupled battery inverter for grid-connected commercial and industrial sites. The cabinet provides 197.12kWh total storage and 187.15kWh usable capacity. It is designed to work alongside an AC-coupled SolarEdge PV system, with SolarEdge ONE for C&I managing site generation, storage and consumption.
Key features
- More control over site energy: supported operating modes include maximised self-consumption, peak shaving, tariff optimisation and import/export limits. Feature availability and financial results depend on the region, tariffs and installation.
- 50kW three-phase battery inverter: PCS050 provides 50kW rated active output, up to 55kVA apparent output and a maximum inverter efficiency of 97.5%.
- Pre-assembled storage cabinet: factory-tested construction, lifting eye bolts and SolarEdge Go commissioning tools support installation and deployment.
- Integrated thermal management and protection: built-in HVAC, smoke and environmental sensing, emergency power-off and fire-suppression provisions form part of the cabinet’s layered protection system.
- Expandable architecture: the cabinet supports one or two PCS050 inverters, with larger site configurations available through project-specific design. This listing includes one 50kW inverter.
Where to use
Consider this SolarEdge C&I energy storage system for warehouses, logistics facilities, factories, retail premises, agricultural businesses and other grid-connected sites with compatible SolarEdge PV. Suitable applications include storing daytime surplus generation for later use and managing demand peaks within the available inverter and battery limits.
The supplied datasheet requires an AC-coupled SolarEdge PV system at the site. Do not assume compatibility with a third-party-only PV installation, stand-alone operation or generator-only charging without written manufacturer approval.
This listing does not include a verified islanding or backup-power configuration and must not be treated as a zero-transfer-time UPS. The battery inverter must not be used to connect life-support or medical equipment directly.
System contents and project requirements
- 1 × SolarEdge CSS-OU-197 battery cabinet with 11 battery modules.
- 1 × SolarEdge PCS050 50kW AC-coupled battery inverter.
- SolarEdge ONE controller, metering, communication equipment, interconnection cables, switchgear, protection, foundations and installation are subject to the agreed project BOM; inclusion is not assumed.
This is an engineered commercial installation, not an out-of-the-box appliance. The cabinet weighs 2,360kg and requires a suitable foundation, access for lifting equipment, manufacturer-specified clearances and a separate single-phase auxiliary supply for HVAC operation.
Energian can assist with site-load assessment, system sizing, SolarEdge compatibility, grid-connection requirements and installation through trusted partners. Confirm the applicable UK grid-connection evidence and obtain the required DNO approvals before installation.
