Power, fuel and connections
Plan your load
Use the 2.8kW rated output for normal load planning. Allow for the higher starting demand of motors, compressors and pumps, and remain within the socket and cable limits.
Petrol and economy mode
Use fresh unleaded petrol rated 90–95 octane with no more than 10% ethanol. Economy mode is intended for light loads; switch it off before connecting higher-demand equipment.
Parallel connection
Two matching KSB 28i generators can provide up to 5.4kW combined rated output using the KSB PC-1 parallel cable. The cable is sold separately; do not mix generator models.

Engine oil, petrol, appliance leads and the KSB PC-1 parallel connection cable are supplied separately.
Before first use
The generator is supplied without engine oil or petrol. Add the correct amount of SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40 four-stroke engine oil and check the level before starting.
Operate outdoors only, away from doors, windows and vents. Never use a petrol generator inside a home, garage, shed, vehicle, tent or other enclosed or partly enclosed space because exhaust fumes contain deadly carbon monoxide.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty: 1 year or 1,000 operating hours, whichever comes first, from the date of purchase.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects, subject to the manufacturer's warranty conditions. Retain your proof of purchase and follow the required operating and maintenance instructions.

Frequently asked questions
Is it suitable for sensitive electronics?
It uses inverter technology to produce a pure sine wave. Check the requirements of the equipment you intend to power and keep the total load within the generator and socket limits.
Can two KSB 28i generators be connected together?
Yes. Two matching units can be connected using the KSB PC-1 parallel cable, sold separately. The manufacturer's stated 0.2kW parallel loss gives up to 5.4kW combined rated output.
Is the KSB 28i ATS compatible?
No. This is a manual-start portable generator and does not have an ATS input.
