Thinking of upgrading your caravan, motorhome, RV, boat, or yacht with solar energy? Planning a solar solution for your home, farm, or garden office? Your search ends here. Our solar panels are synonymous with reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, offering an appealing payback period. Ideal for flat or curved roofs, these panels are a perfect fit for stationary domestic, industrial, and commercial buildings, carports, hangars, farms, garden offices, and similar metal rooftops.

Key Features:

  • Strong ETFE Coating: Ensures a longer service life compared to standard semi-flexible solar panels.
  • Upgraded Power Performance: Textured surface reduces light reflection, maximizing absorption from every angle. Ideal for low light, cloudy conditions, or varying sun angles.
  • Durable Construction: Plastic reinforced with glass fiber, offering sturdiness and resilience to mechanical impact. Perfect for marine applications with high resistance to saltwater environments.
  • Water and Dust Resistant: Sealed edges prevent delamination, ensuring long-term durability. Suitable for diverse environments.
  • Superior Warranty: Enjoy peace of mind with a 3-year workmanship warranty covering material and production defects.

Benefits:

  • Efficient Connectivity: Fitted with a 2 x 1m cable (4.0mm2 cross-section) and waterproof MC4 connectors for easy system integration or panel linking.
  • Versatile Installation: Especially suitable for gaps between metal roof ridges.
  • Fast Delivery: Free two working day delivery if ordered by 5 PM on a working day (longer to the Scottish Highlands, Islands, and Northern Ireland).

Maximum Bending Guidelines:

The permissible bending for these modules extends up to a minimum bending radius of 2000 mm. Bending should strictly occur lengthwise, avoiding any attempt to bend the modules widthwise. In practical terms, adhering to the 2m minimum bending radius implies maintaining a specific maximum height for the arch when measured against a straight horizontal line.

The maximum arch height of a bent solar module is contingent upon the module's length. The data provided below outlines the maximum arch height corresponding to various panel lengths:

  • 50 cm - 16 mm
  • 80 cm - 40 mm
  • 100 cm - 62 mm
  • 120 cm - 89 mm
  • 140 cm - 121 mm
  • 150 cm - 139 mm
  • 170 cm - 178 mm
  • 200 cm - 245 mm

Exercise caution to prevent excessive or repeated bending during module handling. The previously mentioned minimum bending radius is solely applicable when permanently mounting the modules on a curved surface. The modules are not engineered to withstand such a maximum bending radius for applications involving periodic bending.

Important Note: The module's curvature must be uniformly distributed across its entire length. Sharp bending may result in permanent damage to the solar cells.

Embrace the future of solar energy with our high-quality, efficient, and durable solar panels.

      Installation Guidelines:

      Warning!

Follow the installation instructions meticulously. Any work on solar modules, including wiring, must adhere to general safety standards in conjunction with these installation instructions. Always entrust such tasks to a duly qualified professional. Energian and Photonic Universe disclaim responsibility for any issues arising from inappropriate installation or product use. In addition to the Photonic Universe installation instructions, it is advisable to adhere to the guidelines outlined in the BS IEC 62548:2016 "Photovoltaic (PV) arrays — Design requirements" standard.

      Gluing:

The module can be affixed to the surface using an appropriate sealant/adhesive. We recommend SikaFlex 554 super-strong solar panel adhesive for securing solar panels. This adhesive is optimal for fastening solar panels to motorhomes, boats, or caravans. Suitable surfaces include metals, especially aluminum (including anodized), sheet steel (also phosphate, chromate, and galvanized), primers and lacquers (2K systems), ceramic materials, and plastics. It's suitable for securing marine or semi-flexible solar panels to the deck or wheelhouse of a boat. Sikaflex 554 is entirely resistant to saltwater and can endure the harsh sea conditions. Moreover, Sikaflex solar panel adhesive is designed to withstand the most extreme weather conditions.

When using a sealant/adhesive, refrain from utilizing the module until the adhesive is dry (typically 24h).

Before permanent installation, we recommend assessing the module's performance by measuring the open circuit voltage (Voc) and short circuit current (Isc) in bright direct sunlight with no obstructions, and comparing it to the specifications. To achieve readings close to specifications, ensure the sun is high in the clear sky, and the module is facing the sun directly.

      Adhesive Tape Bonding:

Warning! The double-sided adhesive tape on the module forms a robust immediate bond on most smooth, hard surfaces and does not allow repositioning. Attempting to remove the module, even if partially attached, can cause severe damage to the solar cells.

To affix the module using the double-sided adhesive tape, follow the Photonic Universe installation instructions. For semi-flexible solar panel installations on pop-top roofs, metal roofs, and smooth surfaces, we recommend using a 3M Mounting Kit.

      Self-Adhesive Panel Installation:

Self-adhesive solar modules adhere directly to the roof material rather than being mounted on racking, as is the case with traditional rigid solar panels. Installation is straightforward. Begin by preparing the roof with a cleaning agent, then remove the protective plastic from the back, and securely roll the module into place.
