Slate Roof Mounting Kits
Solar Mounting Kits for Slate Roofs
Mined from quarries around Wales, Welsh slate roof tiles are made of natural stone that has been reclaimed – and not only does it look great, but it’s also one of the most durable in the industry. Welsh slate has been used since the Iron ages and remains a popular choice for those updating or upgrading their roof.
What are the benefits of using Welsh slate?
Not only are Welsh slate roof tiles easy on the eye, but they are also extremely durable. And they offer plenty of other benefits too. These include:
- Lifespan: Welsh slate tiles are guaranteed to last over 100 years and that includes their colouring. Thanks to their colour-fast properties, in a century's time they’ll look as good as the day you bought them, with little-to-no fading.
- Unaffected by extreme weather: When we say it’s the most durable in the world, we mean it. Many roof tiles may struggle as temperatures begin to drop during winter but you can rely on these to beat the cold and keep the interior of your home free from any leaks.
- UK-manufactured: Getting your Welsh slate direct from the source in the UK means time and money will be saved as only a low level of on-site grading is required. You’ll also be supporting the work of local businesses.
- Available in a range of sizes: Welsh slate is ideal for heritage and prestigious projects which may demand more specific cuts. We have a range of sizes available, so find the one that best fits your project.
Solar Panel Installation on Slate Roof
The installation of solar panels presume that normally a rail mounting hook would be drilled directly into the roof rafters or sheathing, when dealing with slate each tile would have to be removed carefully.
It should be noted that the installation process with slate roofs is highly technical and a professional solar panel installer should be considered instead of doing it yourself, unless you have the necessary experience and know-how.
